We visited the Education Centre at the bottom of Mangere mountain. On arrival we were welcomed by our hosts and then we sang a waiata to them. After morning tea we walked up to the top of the mountain. All along the way Pauline told us stories about her ancestors who lived on the mountain for hundreds of years. When we reached the top of the mountain... the view was breathtaking! Back at the Education Centre we learned how to weave flax bracelets. Finally we gave two kowhai trees as koha to our hosts. We had a really eventful day.
