Diwali (The festival of lights) this year is from November the 5th to November the 9th (Week 4) . With the help of some teachers we have some exciting activities running that week. Below is an outline of activities taking place that week.
Rangoli Competition (open to all syndicates)
Design your own Rangoli pattern. You can choose to use felts, pastels, coloured pencils etc. Rangoli patterns are colourful and vibrant. Remember, the brighter, the better. Come and get an A4 piece of paper from Mrs Narayan. If you need some ideas or inspiration, photos of Rangoli patterns will be displayed on the office windows. Your designs must be handed in by the end of the day on Thursday.
Winners will be announced on Friday morning. One prize for each syndicate.
Diya (lamps) decorating
Could Teachers please choose two children who would be interested to take part in this activity. The children will decorate their diyas during the First Break on Tuesday (Rimu and Kauri) and Thursday (Pohutukawa and Kowhai).
Keep a lookout in the daily notices. It sure will be a colourful week!
