REPEATED ADDITION

SKIP COUNTING

MULTIPLICATION NUMBER SENTENCES

USING THE 'cheeky monkey' METHOD


OMG (oh my goodness) we can do all of this knowing our skip counting chant! We can manipulate what we are singing to help our memory, to check our answers AND to move beyond skip counting to the 'cheeky monkey' method (eventually).

As we sang Mrs Hope wrote up our warm up questions and after our chant we completed them. Can you do this one?

Start at 2, finish at 16.

We know that we sang, 2 - 4 - 6 - 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16

This is 8 groups of 2

So our multiplication number sentence is 8 x 2 =

We finished our chant for this question on 16

So our completed multiplication number sentence is 8 x 2 = 16
