Last year it was found that some of our land at school was unstable and the ground under the Kōwhai classrooms was subsiding. This meant we needed to demolish the classrooms! They had been there since the 1970s and many children passed through those classes while they were in the juniors.
Much excitement was had when the diggers came to demolish the classrooms. We held a special ceremony to farewell the classes which included singing waiata and sharing memories.
